WATCH: tornado wildlife victims cared for at Oklahoma's WildCare Foundation

It has been just over a week since I returned from Oklahoma, where the International Fund for Animal Welfare (IFAW) deployed a team to care for the wildlife victims of the recent tornadoes, hailstorms, and flooding.

This mission came on the heels of an initial deployment where IFAW responders worked diligently in companion animal shelters to reunite lost pets with their families, separated by the devastating weather.

Whether a disaster leaves behind dogs, cats, livestock, or wildlife victims, IFAW’s dedicated responders are prepared to deploy and care for all animals affected by the catastrophe.

Take a few minutes to view and share this video, which captures the most recent tornado response at the WildCare Foundation, a wildlife rehabilitation center just a few miles south of Moore, Oklahoma.

Here, IFAW was able to provide necessary support to the devoted, yet overwhelmed, WildCare staff who have taken in over 800 injured and orphaned wildlife victims (at the latest count) since the notorious May 20th EF-5 tornado.

I cannot put into words how appreciative I am that IFAW’s faithful supporters, like yourself, never fail to enable us to carry out crucial animal rescue work, where and when it is needed. All I can offer is a sincere, heartfelt, and simple: thank you.
