Supporter efforts for animals never cease to amaze

Pedro, Elena, Katie, Maria, Robert (insert left) and Ami (insert right). It never ceases to amaze me just how committed our supporters are to raising funds for IFAW. Sunday 13 April was one of those days when eight IFAW supporters all ran and successfully completed the gruelling 26.2 miles of the London Marathon 2014.

I have the utmost respect for our runners Ami, Juan (who travelled all the way from Ecuador to run!), Robert, Marja, Nathan, the father and daughter team of Pedro and Elena (this was Pedro’s second London Marathon for IFAW!) and IFAW’s very own member of staff Katie who ran half of the Marathon in a tiger suit!

Of course it is not just running the marathon but also the many months of training and fundraising leading up to the big day. This shows such great dedication and commitment on the part of our runners and I have deep admiration for them. It was a privilege for our staff cheering team to stand in the crowds looking out for our runners to encourage them along the way and congratulate them at the Finish.

Our runners have already raised over £10,000 with more sponsorship still coming in. This will make a real difference to IFAW’s mission to rescue and protect animals around the world.

If you are interested in fundraising for IFAW or learning more about our work please call our Supporter Relations team on 020 7587 6700 or email  and they will be happy to advise you.
