IFAW (International Fund for Animal Welfare – www.ifaw.org) announced today that it won the People’s Voice Webby Award for Best Activism web site of 2005. Award nominees were selected from over 40 countries and all 50 states.
“We appreciate the recognition and encourage new users to visit ifaw.org to learn how to create a better world for animals and people,” said A.J. Cady, IFAW’s Director of Online Campaigns and Marketing.

IFAW will be honored alongside Al Gore at the Ninth Annual Webby Awards at Gotham Hall in New York City on June 6.

IFAW uses Kintera’s online marketing tools to campaign for animal welfare in 17 countries and 11 languages worldwide. Kintera’s technology has enabled www.ifaw.org to build relationships with nearly 300,000 domestic and international members and campaign to protect animals and their environments worldwide.

The IFAW site generates online success by:
· Educating the world about animal welfare while maintaining consistent global branding and messaging and maintaining the individuality of country sites.
· Expanding IFAW’s supporter base to reach new key demographics, enabling supporters to get involved with the IFAW issues that they feel passionate about. (IFAW’s campaign to end the commercial seal hunt generated 45,000 new subscribers in March and April alone.)
· Providing powerful advocacy tools to supporters. Animal lovers can get involved with their favorite animal issues in various ways including circulating petitions and sending letters to targeted legislators and officials, distributing IFAW literature, and inviting friends and family to join the IFAW supporter’s list.
· Collecting donations worldwide - visitors have several options to donate securely on or offline in six different currencies.
