IFAW Statement in Memory of Tilikum

IFAW Statement in Memory of Tilikum
Friday, 6 January, 2017
Yarmouth Port, MA

“It is always sad to hear of the death of a magnificent creature like Tilikum. At IFAW, we are hopeful that his tragic story will bring attention to the need to protect marine mammals in the wild. Through the Internet, books, photos, film and TV, more and more people can “experience” up-close views of wildlife in their natural habitat. Responsible whale watching and wildlife viewing provide opportunities to see animals in the wild exhibiting natural behaviors and can fortify the public commitment to conservation.”
