Dream under construction part two: Foundations and structure

After my previous blog “Dream under Construction,” we received letters of support, generous donations, and amazing messages inspiring us to pursue our dream of a brand new clinic in Playa Del Carmen, Mexico.

After completing all the paperwork to get construction permits, we have officially started building our new clinic!

The first challenge was to prepare the land that was donated to Coco’s Animal Welfare, which was covered with bushes and had an old fence and existing structure that needed to be demolished.

Right after that, a parade of trucks delivered cement, gravel, bricks, rods and plumbing pipes that soon took shape to be the foundation of the building.

This short video will give you an idea of what we have achieved so far and where we are right now.

As you’ll see in the video, we worked on a building design that allowed us to keep all the trees on the land. These trees will provide us not only a much needed shade, but also protection from the sun and rain to keep a cooler temperature inside the building.

Many supporters have helped this project become a reality, including the Australian donor who submitted the testimonial below.

To ensure the continuity of the construction process, now we need your support to buy more building materials and rent a specialised crane to pour concrete in the second and third floors. With your support we will be able to continue non-stop with the building so that we can help the animals sooner.

Thank you very much!

You can help animals in Playa Del Carmen and around the world.
