Vice President of Global Development

Joining as Vice President of Global Development in 2018, Teresa Karamanos is responsible for the strategic leadership of IFAW’s marketing and fundraising activities for the advancement of both public and private support; vital in our efforts to rescue and protect animals around the world.

Aligning closely with programmatic and regional staff to advance IFAW’s institutional priorities around the world, Karamanos manages editorial and content delivery to ensure consistent, compelling and coordinated messaging in all fundraising, marketing and communications channels.

Karamanos comes to IFAW from Columbia University where she served as the Director for Principal Gifts since 2007. She brings over 30 years of experience in higher education and non-profit campaign management, including Vice Presidencies of Development at Wagner College, Bank Street College of Education, and Baruch College/City University of New York. She also served as the Director of Leadership Gifts for EMILY’s List in Washington, DC.

Prior to her development career, she worked with several committee staffs in the US House of Representatives.
