Animals are key to human development is IFAW’s third in our series related to the UN’s Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). This comes in follow-up to Thriving Together, a May 2018 piece that illustrated how the Sustainable Development Goals can be achieved through both conserving wildlife and improving animal welfare. This new report takes this critical conversation one step further, outlining the steps countries and communities can take to better interlink both human and animal well-being, ultimately coming closer to achieving the various SDGs. This playbook will assist countries to make policy decisions that improve the lives of their people while also improving the lives of their animals, ensuring that wild animals can indeed thrive as nature intended.
