Katie Seaberg

A lifetime outdoors enthusiast, Katie has long been passionate about the conservation of nature and animal welfare. After a number of years researching environmental change and human-ocean relationships, she confirmed her interest in a career in conservation policy to make change on a larger scale.

Based in Washington DC, Katie joined IFAW in 2022 as Marine Campaign Assistant on IFAW’s priority campaign to save the North Atlantic right whale. Transitioning to Marine Campaign Officer, Katie supported IFAWs US and global efforts to protect marine life and habitats from human activities through research, stakeholder engagement, and policy advocacy. She has worked across IFAW’s diverse marine conservation projects, engaging with US Congress and Agencies to inform policy, conducting offshore research in the Atlantic, promoting IFAWs citizen science efforts, and more.

In 2025, Katie took on her current role leading IFAW’s marine and terrestrial advocacy work, growing grassroots engagement, and mobilizing public support for policy initiatives.

Katie has a Bachelor of Anthropology and Sustainability from the University of Notre Dame, and a Master of Nature, Society, and Environmental Governance from the University of Oxford.
