Rescuing animals during disasters – Europe
save human lives by saving animals before, during and after disastersIFAW rushes emergency aid to Italy
In Italy’s Emilia-Romagna region, unprecedented flooding has forced hundreds of people and animals from their homes. According to The Guardian, Italy is experiencing its worst flooding in 100 years.
In response, IFAW is rushing emergency aid to LAV, a local animal rights charity. This aid will allow them to purchase medical supplies and special dietary regime food for animals affected by this terrible disaster.
We are in contact with additional organizations in Italy and will update this page as our response work continues.
To apply for an emergency grant to help animals threatened by this disaster, local associations can send their request to the following address: europedisasters@ifaw.org.
When disaster strikes, IFAW's team of emergency rescue experts can be ready at a moment's notice to rush aid or quickly deploy to disaster zones with vital equipment and supplies to help animals in communities in need. Help us continue that work.
