Win for Wildlife: Run a charity livestream for animals

It’s easy: sign up by clicking on the button at the top of the IFAW Tiltify page that says Start fundraising. From there, Tiltify will walk you through setting up your fundraiser. Once your fundraiser is published, you can start planning and promoting your livestream!

You can find more information about using the Tiltify platform, starting your fundraiser, and running your campaign in their support library.

You can then put your gaming (including tabletop!), crafting, music, and other entertaining skills on display while you raise funds and awareness for IFAW and our work to protect more animals around the world.

Video games, tabletop games, board games, and role-playing games are all great content. We request that video games have an ESRB rating of “Teen” or lower. If your preference is for “MA” games, please avoid games that include hunting or fighting animals, or depictions of violence against animals. If you’re unsure whether a game you want to play is right for Win for Wildlife, reach out to us at social@ifaw.org!

First, don’t forget to publish your fundraiser on Tiltify! If you don’t publish it, you cannot accept donations.

Make sure you pick up IFAW streaming assets from our toolkit here.

If you are using IFAW streaming assets, test that your scenes and overlays are sized properly in your broadcast software.

Test your alerts to make sure they trigger when you receive a donation.

We suggest you have the following chatbot commands:

• !donate to provide viewers with a donation link
• !ifaw to provide viewers a link to the IFAW website
• Timers set to provide viewers with the above links at timed intervals

Add a donation panel on your channel’s about page with the Tiltify Fundraising Extension

• Configure the panel by selecting your Tiltify campaign - this will display your fundraising progress to viewers as well as top donors and available donation incentives.
• Use Tiltify’s Amplify links to expand your fundraising reach
• Have friends or family who want to help you fundraise, but either don’t stream or have time to catch your broadcasts? Give them an Amplify link!

Our hope is that you can use your livestream to have fun and engage with your audience! However, we do want to make your live stream for IFAW a positive experience for everyone, and have the following guidelines in place:

• No sexually explicit content
• No hate speech or bigoted language or visuals
• No illegal drugs or paraphernalia
• No harassment of any person involved in the stream (audience members, participants, and hosts) 
  

It might seem obvious, but you can’t raise money if you don’t ask! Here are some tips to help get you started:

• Share your fundraising goal with your friends, family, and followers. Let them know if you reach specific fundraising milestones, there will be incentives and celebrations! These can be as inventive and fun as you want, such as:

Raise the first $100, $500, etc and you’ll:

• Game with one hand tied behind your back for the next 10 minutes
• Play with an upside-down controller for 30 minutes
• Get a live makeover done on stream
• Force restart of a game or change the currently played game
• Perform a fitness challenge like 50 pushups
• Do a TikTok dance and post it on social media



• Plan out and schedule any social media posts for when your campaign is live
• Use the social media assets in our toolkit for special graphics
• Celebrate your donors whenever they make a gift!

Yes, you can participate from anywhere in the world, however Tiltify is a U.S.-based platform, so the default currency is USD, with an option for CAD. If you or your audience is outside of the U.S. or Canada, please keep the exchange rate in mind!
