Nominations are now closed for the 2026 Animal Action Awards
Thank you to everyone who nominated an individual, organization or dog who has made an extraordinary contribution towards animal conservation, rescue or welfare.
Through our annual Animal Action Awards, IFAW recognizes outstanding efforts to support wildlife or help wild animals and people thrive together. This year, we are particularly interested in people who have:
- Dedicated their lives to wildlife rescue or conservation.
- Helped preserve spaces for wildlife and their habitats.
- Fought to save wildlife from poaching and illegal trade.
- Demonstrated courage and resolve in helping wild animals in a disaster.
- Gone the extra mile in any other way in their work and care for wild animals.
We also welcomed nominations for dogs in recognition of their impact in conservation or broader rescue operations, including emergency response, for our Animal of the Year award.
Nominations closed at 5:00 pm GMT on May 11, 2026. Our team is now reviewing the entries, and we look forward to celebrating this year’s winners.
At least six winners will receive the cash award equivalent of GBP 1,000 in their local currency and a trip to London to attend a celebratory awards ceremony. Full details are available here.
