Kathleen Collins
United States
Growing up encompassed by the Adirondack Mountains and spending time on the rocky coast of Maine instilled a deep passion for conservation and wildlife in Kathleen from a young age. This passion has since led her to a rewarding career centered in conservation and advocacy.
Kathleen began her career focused on ocean policy and wildlife conservation with special attention on mobilizing local communities around halting the permitting process of offshore oil drilling along the east coast, wildlife friendly coastal resiliency plans, and movement building. Kathleen then made the shift to hone in on advocacy and movement building when serving as the Campaign Strategist at The Climate Reality Project, where she crafted and managed the organization’s US campaigns and days of action, supported the distributed organizing program and drove the organizational strategy targeting the fossil fuel industry.
Kathleen joined IFAW in 2021 as the Marine Campaign manager. Her work encompasses IFAW’s marine conservation efforts in the US to protect whales from entanglement and ship strikes, makes our oceans quieter, and reduces threats to marine life and habitats around the world, with a particular focus on the North Atlantic right whale.
Kathleen has a Bachelor of Marine Science from the University of New England and a Master of Sustainability Leadership from Arizona State University.
