Daisy Ochiel
Daisy Ochiel oversees community engagement programmes empowering women and youth in Kenya’s Amboseli ecosystem.
Through initiatives such as Jenga Mama (‘Empower a Woman’) and Inua Kijiji (‘Uplift the Village’), Daisy’s work is changing attitudes and livelihoods, shifting perceptions of gender roles in the Maasai community and helping to build resilience in one of Africa's most significant elephant landscapes, supporting IFAW’s Room to Roam initiative.
A Development Studies graduate, Daisy joined IFAW as an intern after college before transitioning to Female Engagement Assistant and, finally, Gender & Youth Officer.
