Christian Plowman
Christian Plowman is a veteran investigator and intelligence specialist currently serving as IFAW’s Global Program Manager for Wildlife Cybercrime. In this role, he oversees international strategies to detect and disrupt the illegal wildlife trade on the open and dark web, and tackle cyber-enabled transnational wildlife crime.
Christian’s career began in the UK’s Metropolitan Police, where he served for 16 years, including significant time as an undercover operative for New Scotland Yard infiltrating organized crime gangs. Since transitioning to conservation in 2018, he has applied his law enforcement expertise to environmental protection, advising NGOs and government bodies on counter-trafficking operations. He is also a member of the UK government’s DEFRA Illegal Wildlife Trade Advisory Group and a recognized expert in intelligence-led policing.
