David Rio, a premium chai company established in 1996 by David Scott Lowe and Rio Miura in San Francisco, has grown into a leading brand in cafes, restaurants, and specialty stores across the U.S. and over 50 countries.

In 2015, David Rio committed to supporting IFAW’s Room to Roam work in the Southern Rangelands in Kenya, where we are working with the communities to connect habitats and protect species and this important landscape. Building on this commitment, David Rio has also expanded their support to rhino protection efforts in Tsavo National Park, reinforcing its dedication to safeguarding endangered species and promoting sustainable conservation across the region.

In 2023, David Rio teamed up with IFAW to open the David Rio Community Ranger Base in the Illaingarunyoni Conservancy, adjacent to Amboseli National Park, to safeguard rare and unique wildlife species from poaching and human-wildlife conflicts and promote coexistence between animals and people.

David Rio expanded their conservation impact by commissioning handmade bracelets from the Esiteti Women’s Group in Kenya. These unique creations, gifted to corporate clients, reflect the brand’s commitment to empowering women through economic opportunities and celebrating local artisanship.
