Lionel Hachemin
As Director of IFAW’s Wildlife Crime Program, Lionel is responsible for the development and implementation of IFAW’s global strategy to combat wildlife crime and supports IFAW teams on the ground with inputs to our wide range of projects and activities that tackle wildlife crime.
Lionel’s journey into wildlife conservation began during university when he joined IFAW as a wildlife cyber-spotter volunteer. Lionel later joined IFAW as a temporary wildlife campaigner for France, moved into the role of global researcher, and then led the IFAW wildlife cybercrime portfolio before taking on his current role as program director.
Lionel has a Master’s Degree in Science and Executive Engineering from the École Nationale Supérieure des Mines de Saint-Etienne and a Master of Art in Environment, Politics and Globalisation from King’s College London.
