Protect elephants – End the ivory trade

African Elephant

IFAW urges decision makers, politicians and consumers to oppose all ivory trade while elephants are still being killed for their tusks. But ending the ivory trade requires more than just words. Rangers need training and equipment to protect elephants from poaching, customs officers need training and tools to identify and arrest wildlife smugglers and consumers need information how to avoid these wildlife products. We all must demand politicians do all they can to stop the ivory trade and support elephant protection efforts.

I urge my government to protect the world's remaining elephants by banning all ivory trade as long as elephants are killed for their ivory. I urge governments to take action to reduce poaching and illegal ivory trade by supporting on-the-ground protection for elephants, enforcing wildlife crime laws and pushing for demand reduction in China and other key countries.
