Tsavo Challenges, Solutions, Hopes July 2005 - June 2011

Looking back, it is amazing to see how much we have achieved in the past six years of our joint partnership with KWS. IFAW has invested in 20 four-wheel drive vehicles for anti-poaching and law enforcement operations, human-wildlife conflict resolution, park administration, community education and outreach initiatives, and ecological monitoring and research.

By building elephant-proof fences, supporting education programmes and income generating projects compatible with wildlife conservation for neighbouring communities, IFAW has boosted livelihoods and helped ease human pressure on Tsavo, thereby protecting both animals and their fragile habitat.
