Elephant poaching and ivory trafficking in Africa

At the April meeting of the Intergroup on the Welfare and Conservation of Animals we discussed the recent spate of elephant poaching in Boubanjida National Park in northern Cameroon which resulted in at least 650 elephants being killed in the first three months of 2012, and the global trafficking of illegal ivory.
