The trade ban had to be revised in response to findings of the World Trade Organization (WTO). The genitalia would be obtained by killing 140.000 grey seals in the Gulf of St. Lawrence &ndash; 70 percent of the current population. The EU trade regulation on seals had to be revised in response to the findings of a recent World Trade Organization (WTO) appellate body decision.
