Russian Bear Cubs: Growing Up Together

Several of my colleagues have just returned from visiting an IFAW funded bear rehabilitation center in Russia. (See previous post on Russian Bears). This is the time of year cubs are brought in to the center when found orphaned in the surrounding forests, either by hunters or government officials. The Pazhetnov Bear Rehabilitation project is dedicated to giving the cubs an isolated and protected chance at survival. The brown bear is endangered in Russia, and extinct in other areas of Europe.
