UAE Ministry of Education recognizes ”Elephants, Never Forget”

Dr. Elsayed Mohamed, IFAW Middle East Regional Director, accepted the award at a ceremony held at the University of Sharjah. On 23 October, 2012, The UAE Ministry of Education (MoE) gave the IFAW office in Dubai an award in recognition of our “Elephants, Never Forget” education program.

Dr. Elsayed Mohamed, IFAW Middle East Regional Director, accepted the award at a ceremony held at the University of Sharjah.

Last academic year, we collaborated with MoE to launch our “Elephants, Never Forget” program with the aim of educating and raising awareness among students about elephant and conservation issues.

A themed art competition was introduced to UAE schools as an extracurricular activity.

Twenty thousand students in grades four and five across the country received our educational materials.

The partnership we established with MoE will continue by launching another Animal Action Education campaign.

This academic year, the “Big Trunks, Tiny Tales” theme will hit UAE schools and the number of the target students will be doubled to forty thousand.

We are excited to run our Animal Action Education programme in the United Arab Emirates and engage new students and educators in our mission.
