Satyen has worked for IFAW since 2008. He started his IFAW career by heading up IFAW UK’s government relations. During this time he also doubled up as the wildlife trade and marine campaigner, working on such issues as the illegal ivory trade and whaling, before moving to Brussels to concentrate on IFAW’s political work in the EU and Europe.
Prior to joining IFAW, Satyen was an adviser to the UK Conservative Party and worked with them on animal welfare and environmental issues as part of the Conservative Party’s Environment, Food and Rural Affairs team. With a postgraduate degree in European Politics, he brings with him vast experience of working at the heart of the policy making process and in depth knowledge of the EU political process.
