Despite A Rough Start, Pups is Eager To Find a Life Partner

If that sounds like someone you have been looking for, Pups is your man... and he’s wondering where you are and why you haven’t called him yet because he’s dreaming of just the possibility of someone like you!

Pups, now in a much happier place.

I’m sure someone out there has been looking for that loving four legged companion who is happy to do whatever, will do whatever with quite a bit of exuberance and will adore you while doing it.

If that sounds like someone you have been looking for, Pups is your man...  and he’s wondering where you are and why you haven’t called him yet because he’s dreaming of just the possibility of someone like you!

Pups had a little bit of a rough start.

He comes from a fly in community in northern Ontario where he was shuffled around some.  His first owner decided that she didn’t want him any more so she gave him to a young family member.  But as is the case, children don’t understand the responsibility of owning a dog (nor do they have the resources) and so Pups was relegated to a three foot chain attached to the side of the house.  Sometimes he was fed, sometimes his water bucket had water in it, but mostly he just lay there.

And that is where we found him.

Pups, as we found him in a fly-in-only community in northern Ontario.

As I’ve said before, it's often timing that changes a life and we were in the community at the same time that Pups' owners decided the gig was up.  Pups had to go.  So, like Muck, Pups was liberated from his lonely existence on a chain and has been soaking up the freedom and companionship since his new life began at the end of June.  And like Muck did, Pups is now hoping to find his new life partner(s).

In the communities, we never had to have him on a leash because he wanted to be with us and the other dogs who accompanied us down to the lake for swim time.  At first he was stiff from all the swimming and running but that was from months of immobility and I am pretty sure he thought that little bit of pain was well worth all the fun.  Any stiffness is old news and since the end of June he’s been in Muskoka doing all the swimming and running he has wanted.  But now he’s getting serious about wanting his own peeps.

This is Pups in a nutshell:

  • 1.5 year old black lab cross
  • Neutered and up to date on shots
  • About 60 pounds
  • LOVES to swim
  • Is built to run and play with strength and glee
  • Chooses to be with his people
  • Very sociable with dogs and people
  • Strong and healthy

His best match is someone who is active, someone who can laugh at a goofy boy, someone who wants to give love and get love from a very thankful dog.

I hope someone out there in Canada (preferrably) would love pups like he deserves to be loved. I wish I had the resources to fly him over here to Aussie land (Australia), and let him be my boy, but that is a big ask. So come on all you lovely Canadians, give pups the wonderful life he deserves......pleeeease.
