What’s so special about Australia’s North West?

The water is so clear it’s like looking through air, colourful coral reefs are so vivid you need sunglasses and underwater mountains and canyons are teeming with life.Everything.

There isn’t enough room here to list all the incredible species and seascapes that make up this remarkable area, and I won’t get within a dwarf lionfish’s whisker of doing it justice in words. So if you haven’t been or can’t get there soon check out this new report the Save our Tropical Sealife Alliance, of which IFAW is a member, has just published.

After you’ve marvelled at the fantastic photographs and read about what’s at risk think about how you’d feel if it became an industrial wasteland.  If we don’t speak up for our environment now, we could lose this magical place forever, before we even fully appreciate it.

Take 30 seconds to tell the Environment Minister, Tony Burke, that you want his plan for this area to safeguard our natural treasures. -- MC
