Abusive Dog Owner Not Found
An IFAW supporter forwarded this video to me yesterday which is extremely disturbing. NOTE OF CAUTION BEFORE VIEWING: the video contains images of an extreme case of animal abuse.
After doing further research as to the source and if the videographer had filed charges locally, it turns out that the culprit in the video has a warrant for arrest but he has not been able to be located.
I wouldn't normally post such disturbing footage on the blog, however I thought this space is best utilized as a tool in making this world a better place for animals. Like I said, the person shown in this video has been accused with a misdemeanor of animal cruelty (following a previous cruelty conviction) and is still at large.
Anyone with information about this case is encouraged to contact the High Point Police Department at 336-883-3224.
Here is the information blurb associated with the YouTube video:
"In High Point, NC, animal welfare activists captured this footage of a man beating, choking, kicking, and throwing chained dogs in his yard. The footage shown here was shown to High Point Police Officials where they determined there was not enough evidence for animal cruelty charges.
After the footage was released to the media, the police took action, but they arrested the wrong man, giving the real perpetrator plenty of time to get away. The man in this video has a prior misdemeanor animal cruelty conviction. Now, he has a warrant for another misdemeanor animal cruelty charge but has not been apprehended.
He has been seen on multiple occasions around the neighborhood. He will continue this abuse until he is charged with felony animal cruelty. Please call or e-mail the following officials and ask them to step up efforts to catch the abuser and charge him with FELONY ANIMAL CRUELTY."
