A Pitbull and Her...Goat?

Nola_web_wit_doggoat Animal shelters often see a number of non-traditional pets through their doors.  Reptiles, hamsters, birds, farm animals, and increasingly rabbits, are likely to find themselves in need of a new home.  It was therefore not surprising to me to hear that HSSM had recently taken in a stray goat.  What was surprising was learning that the goat was found in the company of a sweet pit-bull type dog who pined when separated from her bleating buddy.

The two are happier now that they've been placed in the same run but hopefully their owner will come for them.  It seems unlikely that these two well cared for friends could be missed for long.  If the owner can't be found, the shelter will probably have to adopt the two of them together; not an easy task given the small number of people interested in caring for this unusual pair.

Do you know someone in Southern Mississippi who has lost their goat and dog?

That's wonderful! I hope they won't run away from home again :-)

I just got some wonderful news from HSSM: the dog and goat have gone back to their owners! Local ACO's combed the neighborhood where the two were found and were able to locate the distraught owners. It seems like it's a happy ending for this odd couple!

Hi!
Any updates on what happened to the pitbull and her goat? Did the owners claim them? They look so sweet and adorable, I hope there was no problem getting them adopted together if the owners didn't show up... (would love to adopt them myself, but considering that I live in Norway it would be very difficult...)
