Major online tech companies unite to end wildlife cybercrime on World Elephant Day

Today on World Elephant Day seven companies, including eBay, Etsy, Gumtree, Microsoft, Pinterest, Tencent and Yahoo! have united to adopt a new policy framework that will help protect animals from illegal online trade.

A near total ivory ban finalized in France!

Almost four months following the ivory ban declaration, a decree has come.

In Kenya, on April 30, 2016, while President Uhuru Kenyatta was having 105 metric tons of illegal ivory burnt, the French environment minister, Ségolène Royal, announced that to protect the last elephants on Earth France would prohibit all ivory trading on its soil!

This year the Discovery Channel began airing a series of trailblazing documentaries on humanity’s impact on the environment and what we can do to solve related global problems via the Discovery Impact banner. I couldn’t think of a more fitting home for IFAW’s flagship feature documentary, Huntwatch, to make its global television premiere.
