2013 IFAW cetacean survey in the eastern Great Australian Bight, South Australia
In April/May 2013, IFAW Oceania undertook a visual and acoustic survey of the eastern Great Australian Bight area, to the west of Kangaroo Island, South Australia. The objective of the work was to provide initial baseline data on the presence, diversity and distribution of cetaceans in this poorly studied area. This is the first systematic vessel-based research survey of the region during these months. The team conducted 10 days of research effort between 26th April and 8th May.
