(January 15, 2017)</strong>&mdash;On Saturday night Feld Entertainment announced that Ringling Bros.&nbsp;and Barnum &amp; Bailey Circus will close permanently in May.</p> <p>The traveling circus, which has operated for over a century, has long relied on exploitative animal acts to sell tickets. With today&rsquo;s announcement of two tons of ivory in Kenya, more than 20 tons of illegal ivory, plus 949 elephant tusks and more than 3,000 pieces were reportedly seized in 2016, with at least 15 large seizures in excess of 500 kilograms.
