Petition to list the African elephant (Loxodonta africana) as endangered pursuan

This petition demonstrates that the African elephant (Loxodonta africana) meets the statutory criteria for an endangered listing under the Endangered Species Act (ESA).  The petitioners – The International Fund for Animal Welfare, The Humane Society of the United States and Humane Society International, and The Fund for Animals – submit this Petition to the Secretary of the Interior requesting formal protection for the African elephant as Endangered under the ESA.
