Four orphaned Asian elephant calves were moved to Manas National Park this week by the International Fund for Animal Welfare (IFAW) and Wildlife Trust of India (WTI) in association with the Assam Forest Department. The elephants will be gradually reintegrated to the wild.

Whenever I talk about Americans’ role in killing beautiful imperiled species through sport hunting, I almost always get the same shocked response: incredulous surprise followed by an exclamation that this couldn’t possibly be legal!

シンガポールが1トンの密輸象牙の押収(3カ月で2番目に大規模な押収)を本日発表しましたが、国際動物福祉基金(IFAW – www.ifaw.org)は密猟と違法な象牙取引を阻止するために国際的な情報活動の改善を呼び掛けました。

「押収以上のことをすべき時が来ました」とIFAWの野生生物取引防止プログラム部長、ケルヴィン・アリーは言います。「IFAWは違法象牙の押収を称賛しますが、違法取引の阻止に対する答えとして、政府が押収の先を考えることが不可欠です。」

In Pakistan hat eine Dürrekatastrophe die Lebensgrundlage tausender Familien vernichtet. Unser Rettungsteam füttert und versorgt gemeinsam mit unserem lokalen Partner, der Ravi Foundation, die Tiere dieser Familien.
