英国剑桥公爵和公爵夫人访问印度野生动物救助中心

本周三,国际爱护动物基金会(International Fund for Animal Welfare,简称IFAW– www.ifaw.org.cn)和印度野生动物基金会(Wildlife Trust of India, www.wildlifetrustofindia.org)将一起迎接英国剑桥公爵和公爵夫人访问野生动物康复与保护中心(CWRC),他们将在这里亲眼见到亚洲象孤儿、犀牛孤儿和其他受伤的野生动物,并将会见参与救助、照顾这些动物的相关工作人员。

“我们非常高兴皇室成员能够在百忙中,访问国际爱护动物基金会和印度野生动物基金会(IFAW- WTI)的野生动物康复与保护中心,看望受照顾的动物,会见工作人员。” IFAW总裁兼首席执行官Azzedine Downes 表示,“因为栖息地丧失、人与动物的冲突以及盗猎,大象和犀牛的前途未卜。IFAW十分欣慰,英国剑桥公爵和公爵夫人能够提高全世界公众对野生动物所面临威胁的认识。”

The then four-month-old cub was first found in a backyard of a private house near the village of Filippovka, Khasansky District, Primorsky Krai.

De laatste 300 olifanten in Mali staan op het punt de bescherming te krijgen die

Om te beginnen wil ik je ontzettend bedanken voor de overweldigende respons na onze oproep in maart om in actie te komen voor bescherming van de laatst overgebleven olifantenkudde van de Sahelregio. Tot nu toe hebben meer dan 73.000 mensen de petitie van het IFAW getekend, waarmee we de milieuminister van Mali, Ousmane Koné, oproepen urgente maatregelen te nemen voor bescherming van deze laatste 300 olifanten.

Celebrities pen open letter to stop wildlife trade in Hawaii

Today, a group of celebrities who live or work in Hawaii published an open letter in the Hawaii newspaper of record, the Honolulu Star Advertiser, urging citizens of the state to support Senate Bill No. 2647. The Bill proposes a law that would protect a suite of imperiled wildlife species, including rhinos, tigers, and elephants, by stopping the sale of their parts and products.

Ze zijn misschien niet zo opvallend aanwezig - als er een hond aankomt, zijn katten meestal snel weg - maar katten spelen in het werk van Community Led Animal Welfare (CLAW) net zo'n belangrijke rol als honden.

Net als honden hebben katten baat bij vaccinatie, tekenbehandelingen en sterilisatie. De kliniek van CLAW in Durban Deep, Zuid-Afrika, heeft kittens in overvloed voor iedereen die er eentje wil adopteren.
