New Yorker on Whales and Navy Sonar

The New Yorker's Hendrik Hertzberg posted this article discussing military sonar use and its (sometimes fatal) effect on whales.  The piece talks about how only 10 years ago naval sonar wasn't even on the map of possible whale breaching and stranding causes...and how unlikely it is that the naval community will give up its pursuit of cool audio toys...well if someone walked into your house with an air horn and fired it off next to your head...I'm sure you would likely have some strong opinions on that type of usage...kinda exactly what's going on w/the learn more...visit the Join Campaigns section of
