General Counsel

Prior to joining IFAW, Daina practiced litigation and international arbitration with private law firms for nine years. Daina received her JD from Stanford Law School, with pro bono distinction, and her BA in International Studies from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill as a Morehead Scholar. Following college, Daina spent a year as a Fulbright Scholar in Kingston, Jamaica working on environmental education projects. Daina is a Past Chair of the American Bar Association TIPS Animal Law Committee (2017-2018), and currently serves as Animal Law Committee Liaison and Member of the TIPS Leadership Council (2018-2021). She is admitted to practice law in Massachusetts, New York, Tennessee, Louisiana (inactive) and North Carolina (inactive).
