Second Ukraine crisis video update: Gorlovka Shelter

Many thanks to GreaterGood for their support of our ongoing efforts in Ukraine!

In part two of our video conversations with those brave individuals saving animals in the frontlines of the war in Eastern Ukraine, we touch base with Alevtina Anischenko, Director of the animal shelter in Gorlovka.

Not only did she and her husband remain in harm’s way, all on their own, to care for more than 300 dogs when fighting erupted, they have also been the unfortunate victims of a direct shell hit on their shelter.

Alevtina and her team are dealing with unimaginable challenges to care and protect the lives of the most vulnerable.

Their story is an inspiration to all of us.
