Call for Entries: IFAW Seeks to Recognize Animal Heroes with Animal Action Award

Sunday, 16 October, 2011
From saving our lives to saving our sanity, animals do amazing things for people every day. There are also special people out there who return that kindness and do amazing things for animals. The International Fund for Animal Welfare (IFAW; is looking to recognize those people and their efforts with an Animal Action Award.

IFAW Animal Action Awards honor the unsung heroes—young, old and everywhere in between—who have done something outstanding for animals. Perhaps they have devoted their life to saving animals at a sanctuary, volunteered to rescue animals during a natural disaster or campaign tirelessly for animal welfare. Additionally, IFAW will also honor animals that have done something heroic for a person or even for another animal.

Individuals are encouraged to write to IFAW and tell us about someone you know who has made a difference for animals. Nomination letters should include addresses, daytime contact numbers, and email for both the nominator and the nominee and can be mailed to IFAW Animal Action Awards, Attn: Christine Jones, 290 Summer Street, Yarmouth Port, MA 02675; faxed to (508) 744-2009. Entries can also be submitted online or via email at

The nomination deadline is December 31, 2011.

The IFAW Animal Action Award winners will be selected at the end of the year and announced in the spring of 2012.
