Dr. Jane Goodall, DBE is an ethologist who has been an advocate for wildlife issues and animal welfare for many decades.  Her research into the lives of the wild chimpanzees at Gombe, in eastern Tanzania revealsed ground-breaking discoveries about the lives of Chimpanzees. This has spanned nearly 55 years and is still ongoing today. Dr. Goodall is involved in the welfare of captive primates and the Jane Goodall Institute manages chimpanzee sanctuaries at Tchimpounga in the Republic of Congo and Chimpanzee Eden in South Africa. Jane Goodall's Roots & Shoots is a hands on programme for young people of all ages involving activities to benefit the local community, animals and the environment we all share.
