Becoming a vegetarian at the age of 10, Anna started collecting signatures for petitions against factory farming and the terrible conditions involved with that when she was a teenager.
With a Master’s degree in Sociology and Political Sciences from the University of Hamburg, Anna wanted to pursue her dream of making this world a better and more just place. Before joining IFAW in 2018, Anna was working for Transparency International for 10 years managing projects across the world focusing on business sector engagement, youth engagement and legal advice when it comes to corruption issues.
At IFAW, Anna manages the EU Wildlife Cybercrime Project, which aims to disrupt and dismantle wildlife cybercriminals and their networks in the European Union.
The focus of her work is on engaging with online companies in Germany, France, Belgium and the Netherlands and to support them in tackling wildlife cybercrime. She works with our partners WWF and TRAFFIC on expanding the Coalition to End Wildlife Trafficking Online to Europe. As part of IFAW’s Cyber Spotter Program and to support companies in implementing their policies regulating the trade in protected species, she trained volunteers to monitor online platforms and then provide the companies with data to act upon.
