Theresa Chapulapula
Southern Africa
Theresa’s love for nature was engraved at a tender age because she grew up with a veterinarian. It was amazing for her to see how the Vet was taking care of the animals. This helped her to understand the importance of helping animals because they cannot take care of themselves.
Theresa is an award-winning journalist with over 15 years of experience in both print and electronic media. Among other accolades, she was named the best journalist in 2012 by the Media Institute of Southern Africa-Malawi Chapter. One of the areas she has been focusing on in her reporting is conservation. This has taken her to several national parks and game reserves in southern Africa.
Some of the organizations Theresa has worked for are; The United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO), Dignitas International, Times Media Group and Mail & Guardian (RSA).
She is currently working as a Communications Officer for IFAW’s Malawi-Zambia Transboundary Landscape Project.
