Russisch onderzoeksteam westelijke grijze walvis meldt goed nieuws vanaf Sachali

De expeditie rondom de westelijke grijze walvis heeft dit jaar veel goed nieuws opgeleverd, ondanks de bedreigingen die blijven bestaan.

We zijn terug met nieuws uit Piltoen, waar we in de Zee van Ochotsk, voor de noordoostkust van het eiland Sachalin, onderzoek doen naar grijze walvissen.

Spotlight Zambia: een mijlpaal in het leven van olifantje Chodoba

Afgelopen maand was het Kafue Nationaal Park in Zambia getuige van een mijlpaal.

De negenjarige gerehabiliteerde olifantenwees Chodoba, een lid van de kudde uit het Elephant Orphanage Project, werd gezien terwijl hij contact aan het maken was met wilde olifanten in de buurt van de Chintumba Pool, een drinkplaats in de buurt van Camp Phoenix.

De wilde olifanten bezoeken deze plaats meestal 's nachts, maar dit keer waren we al in het late middaglicht getuige van deze bijzondere ontmoeting.
