Fighting to Protect Dogs and Cats in China

Fighting to Protect Dogs and Cats in China

Owning a pet has only become popular in China in the past decade or so. But there is little understanding of how to look after a pet responsibly. Owners are unaware of the need to sterilize or vaccinate their pets and, in villages, most dog owners let their dogs go unleashed. Animosity towards pet owners is growing, particularly because of the spread of rabies and other animal-borne diseases.
