An animal-rescue volunteer had her right armed bitten off by a tiger at the Prairie Wind Wild Animal Refuge.  The volunteer put her arm in the cage to pet the tiger because she knew him to be friendly.  When the big cat nibbled at her hand, she quickly jerked her hand back and the tiger attacked.  The tiger, per the woman's request, was not euthanized.
