Leopard Kills a Woman At an Animal Sanctuary
At an animal sanctuary, a 60- to 70-pound leopard used its weight to force open a locked cage. The leopard entered a fenced run where a 52-year old woman, who worked at the center, was standing. The woman's body was later found by her son. Officers went door to door warning residents that the leopard was at large until Deputies killed the cat hours later about a half mile away. The Oak Hill Center for Rare and Endangered Species, where the incident occurred, treats injured exotic animals and returns them to zoos when in good health.
