Trading Tusks: An Investigation into Elephant Management and Ivory Trade in Southern Africa

The findings and conclusions outlined in this report are the results of extensive research, including 63 interviews, conducted in Botswana, South Africa and Zimbabwe between August and October 2006 on issues relating to elephant conservation management and the ivory trade in these countries. This report is a summary of two detailed reports of the research, available from IFAW on request.
