Labour Party would try to stop whale hunt
Australia's opposition Labour Party has stated that they'd use the military to try to stop Japan's annual whale hunt. The military would monitor and record the activities of the whaling fleet, and that information would then be used to try to disprove Japan's claim that the hunt is for scientific purposes. Labour would like to see action taken to stop the hunt in International Court of Justice in The Hague, or the International Tribunal of the Law of the Sea in Hamburg.
Australia's federal election is in one week, Saturday the 24th. The Labour Party is currently leading in the polls by about 10 points.
