Cruelty Caught on Film

Sealhuntifaw_7 The IFAW team spotted six sealing boats off the coast of Newfoundland today.  After dealing with bad weather and a lack of seals in the area our team has been able to gather footage to document this cruel and unnecessary hunt.  Today the team saw hunting with rifles and hackapiks.  Many of the hunters jumped off moving boats and ran onto the ice to strike fleeing seals, hook them, and drag them back to the boats to be skinned.  Once the skins were removed the remaining parts of the seals were then tossed overboard.  Any witness to this slaughter cannot justify the unacceptably cruel manner in which this hunt is conducted.  We will be adding more hunt footage to this site very shortly.  Stay tuned...

This annual seal hunt, performed by these less than men, leave Canada with a bad perception of ourselves. We are no better than countries such as China, who slaughter and skin cats and dogs. I am a proud Canadian but i do not want to be classified with countries such as this and i think that most canadians would agree.
I strongly believe that what goes around comes around and that should be a thought left to all those less than men who mercifully slaughter baby seals every year just to try and put a dollar in their pocket. Go out and get a real job, stop draining our oceans and killing our planet.
And in my opinion, the seals look better in their fur than all those ugly people who want to wear it!!
I am a proud supporter for Stop the Seal Hunt.

If the Canadian government is so supportive of this activity, then I suggest they let these "hunters" (a term I hold loosely. Hunting presumes skill and cunning. The only skill required is how to swing an axe handle. I bet half of those slaughterers have at least one domestic abuse complaint against them as well.) babysit their children or as teachers in their schools. Those government officials would cringe at the idea of having men like these anywhere near their families. I used to have this wonderful perception of Canada. It's nice there. You really do not here bad news like you do in America. This is definitely tragic, and Canada's dirty little secret.

The people who participate in this annual seal hunt are TRUELY BARBARIC!!! Big brave seal hunters you are, killing defenseless animals who have just as much a right to life as anything or anyone else on the planet. I thought Canada had more class as a country but apparently not!

And if these men were really hunting to keep from starving and freezing in the brutal Canadian winter, they would keep the meat for themselves and not toss it overboard.
Give me a break. They don't "need" to do this. The seals need their skins to live in, and that's a fact.

When I read and see this cruelty documented I understand why we have wars- and monsterific crimes in our Nation . I believe there is a powerful "RIPPLE AFFECT" to the thoughts, words and actions of MAN. I pray and meditate to find solace and balance. I have been an activist since age 10 and at 52 I want to know WHY THE WORLD IS MORE CRUEL NOW THEN EVER ?! PEACE FOR ALL BEINGS COULD BE A REALITY IF MAN WOULD NOT FEAR FINDING PEACE WITHIN HIMSELF... LET US "FIGHT" THE GOOD FIGHT- UNITED IN LOVE AND PURPOSE. ( I WILL DIE HAPPILY AS A VOICE FOR THE VOICELESS) Many thanks to all my fellow humans that understand why we were put here. BLESSINGS AND THANKS TO ALL COMPASSIONATE HUMANS . UNITED WE STAND.
