Think Twice campaign lands at Dubai International Airport

Booth staff and officials at the Dubai International Airport booth.On December 25, 2011, the International Fund for Animal Welfare office, Ministry of Environment and Water, Dubai Airports and Dubai Police officially launched a two traveler education campaigns side by side ( “What you carry…May harm you” by Ministry of Environment – UAE, and Think Twice campaign by IFAW MENA office) at the Dubai International Airport.

Undersecretary of the Technical Affairs at the Ministry of Environment and Water opened the campaign. This campaign is calling tourists not to buy wildlife souvenir especially those made of endangered species and educating tourists about CITES rules.

The campaign started on Dec 26, 2011 and ended on Jan 12, 2011. The event took place in Terminal 1, 2 and 3 and targeting thousands of travelers in Dubai airport.

Thousands of passengers visited the booth. The staff handed out Arabic and English brochures, IFAW’s calendars and gifts. Wildlife confiscated Specimens were also displayed for the travelers, in addition to the display of wildlife movie about international wildlife trade.

Dubai International Airport is ranked the fourth busiest airport in the world in terms of international passengers. The airport serves more than 150 airlines flying to over 220 destinations across six continents.
