Lions close out 2015 with a victory lap

I was working with colleagues in the IFAW office in Sydney just before the holidays when I got the incredibly good news that the US would implement protections for lions through the Endangered Species Act. My Aussie colleagues had welcomed Australia’s ban of the import and export of lion trophies earlier in the year, and to have this news from the US meant we had a double celebration. It felt so good at the end of a busy year to know that two countries so close to my heart are taking such important steps to save lions from senseless trophy hunting.

Enjoy these stunning lion images taken by IFAW donor Barbara Hollweg and feel free to take a look at the news round-up to see some of the popular stories on this important victory.
