IFAW joins big cat experts at the Jackson Hole Wildlife Film Festival

Lion in Mara Northern Conservancy, Kenya.

This week IFAW joins wildlife advocates, big cat experts, and accomplished filmmakers at the Jackson Hole Wildlife Film Festival. The gathering will open with a Cat Conservation Summit—a forum for felid experts from the U.S. and abroad to present recent research, policy proposals, partnerships, and innovative  approaches to protecting lions, tigers, leopards, and other imperiled big cats around the world.

IFAW’s Executive Vice President Kelvin Alie—a leading authority on wildlife crime—will present at the week’s main events. North America Regional Director Jeff Flocken, one of the festival’s lead organizers, will lead expert discussions of pressing big cat conservation issues.

IFAW ambassador Patricia Awori addresses the 2016 Jackson Hole Elephant Summit delivering a message of hope.

In addition to sharing IFAW’s efforts to stop trafficking in big cats, address trophy hunting, and advance the U.S. Big Cat Public Safety Act, our team will present insights on effectively communicating with the public to improve conservation outcomes. IFAW’s film and social media experts will share best practices and other guidance with attendees.

By bringing together experts with diverse skill sets, this summit will equip cat advocates to build bridges and better protect these apex species. I look forward to sharing this experience with you via Facebook and Twitter, and to continuing our shared fight to protect big cats. To tell Congress to protect big cats, please take action below.
